Shortcuts for iPhone

Fewer gestures. More day.

Five shortcuts and two recipes that take repeated gestures off your day. Each one measured in minutes, explained step by step, and drawn exactly as it is built, so you see what you install before you install it.

≈4h

a week back, if you use all five (estimate)

The legend

Every shortcut is a constellation.

The drawing is generated from the shortcut file itself: one star for each step that does something for you, in the order it happens. If the file changes, the drawing changes.

What sets it off

The only gold on this page. A time, a button, an alarm.

One step

An action the shortcut does for you. Count the stars and you know how many.

Repeats

The ring means the step runs once per item: per topic, per headline, per task.

Chooses a path

Stars stacked in one column: only one of them happens.

The shortcuts

Install, set it off, forget about it.

Each file is signed. When you open it, Shortcuts shows you every action before adding it; nothing runs until you say so.

Recipes

Nothing to download.

Sometimes the best automation is two things the iPhone already does, put together. Three minutes of setup.

Tell me when they get home — only if I'm not there

Find My tells you every time the person arrives; a Focus that turns on by itself at home silences it when you are already there, or arrived together.

  1. Find My → People → the person → Notifications → Add → Notify Me → Arrives → Home → Every Time.
  2. Settings → Focus → + → Custom → name it “Home”.
  3. In that Focus, Apps → Silence notifications from → add Find My. Nothing else.
  4. Add Schedule → Location → your home.

The other person must share their location with you and accept the notification.

Deep work mode

One press of the Action button silences everything except the people who matter, and a timer marks the end of the block.

  1. Settings → Focus → + → Custom → “Deep work”. Allow only your favorites and Calendar.
  2. In that Focus, Home Screen → choose a single page with only your work apps.
  3. Settings → Action Button → Focus → Deep work.
  4. When you start, press the button and say “Siri, a 50-minute timer”.

Sessions of 50 minutes with 10 of rest: rest is legitimate, and it is designed.

Trust

You see it, you decide.

Every step, visible

The constellation is the file. And Shortcuts shows you every action before it adds anything.

Nothing comes back to us

The shortcuts run on your iPhone. We only count how many times each file is downloaded, with no cookies and no personal data.

Apple Intelligence, with its rules

Where a shortcut uses a model, it uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute: your data is used for the request and is not kept.
